Welcome to my site. It is a collection of ramblings on family history and software development that keep me off the streets with links to my major involvements.

The image on the home page is of the remains of the old windmill at Mt .Gilead, a property to the south of Campbelltown, NSW and currently under threat from developers.

The ruins of the old windmill hold a particular interest with my family as it is a link to our convict heritage. Mt Gilead was a property owned by Thomas Rose to whom my ancestor Thomas Allsopp was assigned on arriving in New South Wales in April 1833. He was most likely to have been involved in the construction of the windmill which was built during the time that he spent there.
